A weak trough of low pressure affects Northern Cooks.

Forecast to midnight tonight for the Southern Cooks:
Over waters: Southeasterly winds 20 to 25 knots, easing to 15 to 20
knots from tomorrow.
Over land areas: Southeasterly winds 15 to 20 knots.
Rough seas, becoming moderate to rough from tomorrow.

For open waters: Damaging heavy swells up to 4.0m, gradually abating
from later tomorrow.
